Kaden P.5

Chapter Five - Tour of the Town

             After being introduced to her sister's friends, Mary was given a tour through town by them and Vanessa. Mary felt comfortable with the three new people she had met, and she enjoyed her surroundings as they showed her around. The town was absolutely beautiful. Her new friends and Vanessa showed her the best places to go in town. There was the cafe and bakery shop, the toy store, the flower shop, the church, the park, the town was full of great places to go.

             Mary would sometimes feel uneasy when she was around other people, but Vanessa and Kaden let her know who she could trust. Kaden understood Mary's disorder. She wasn't the first person he met that was rather shy. He had met fellow students in his Special Ed classes who were like her. He understood this was something that wasn't easy to overcome, like his grammar problems.

           After a while, the group had lunch together at Shilo's, which was a simple restaurant with home cooked meals, like hamburgers and fries, milkshakes, pancakes and bacon, and ham sandwiches....Boy, this is making me hungry as I'm writing this. Anyway, as the group were having lunch, they told a little bit about each other.

              "Me and my mommy and daddy, we belong to a wizard named Drake Wyver, who lives here in town." Emmit said, as he was enjoying his hamburger.

              "My mommy and daddy and my brother and sisters and me, we live in the pond in the forest," Pearl said, "Before my brother and sisters and me were born, my parents came here from Florida."

                Mary couldn't help but smile as she listened to two children tell about themselves. They were so adorable the way they spoke.

               "Kaden's dad, he's the doctor around here, and he helps his Dad out," Emmit said.

               "I help father get medicine and tools," Kaden explained, "My father getting old, so he need help. I help kids no feel scared when they see my father. I make them laugh and give hugs, so they feel better. I want to be doctor too someday, so I can make people happy by making them feel better. I take lessons from father and online."

              Mary was amazed at how passionate Kaden was about this. She admired that he liked helping others and making people happy. Later that day, the sun was close to setting, and it was time for everyone to head back home. Everyone escorted Mary back to her and Vanessa's house.

             "Tomorrow, we'll show you the forest," Emmit said.

             "I look forward to it," Mary said, smiling.

             Everyone said their goodbyes to each other, then Mary and Vanessa went into their house, while Kaden went to take Emmit and Pearl home. Mary sighed happily after she came inside the house. She had a wonderful day. She got to see the beautiful town she was living in, she made some new friends, she was quite happy. She especially enjoyed meeting Kaden. There was something about him that made her, all warm inside. Meanwhile, after taking Emmit and Pearl back to their homes, Kaden returned home himself. Dr. Daniel was busy cleaning up his doctor's office.

              "Hello Kaden, how was your day, today?" Dr. Daniel asked.

              "Great," Kaden answered, "Vanessa's sister, Mary, she come to live with Vanessa today. Me and my friends show Mary around town."

              "That's sounds wonderful, Kaden," Dr. Daniel said, "Why don't you tell me about Mary as we fix dinner."

               As they were fixing porkchops and mash potatoes for dinner, Kaden told his father about Mary.

                "Mary have aspurgers, she very shy," Kaden explained, "But she is okay around me and my friends and her family. Mary is very nice girl. She have good manners."

                 "I see, she does sound nice," Dr. Daniel said, "What does she look like."

                 "She is Minuman," Kaden answered, "She wear pretty clothes, she has long brown hair....Her eyes are pretty and blue..."

                 Dr. Daniel noticed the look on Kaden's face as he talked about Mary. Kaden was smiling in a bashful manner and Dr. Daniel knew what his son was feeling. After dinner was ready, they both sat down at the table to eat. After dinner, they sat down in the living room to watch TV. Although, Kaden didn't pay much attention to the programs they watched. He couldn't stop thinking about Mary. It was strange, he had never felt like this before. There was something about her that made him think about her constantly, and feel warm inside.
